For E G Simmons County Park: Beautiful. Large flat sites. Some with 50 amp. All seem to be $18 @ 55yr, $24 full. Only issue we have is we came for one night to check it out, and are not allowed again until 14 days pass because the computer will not let us return. We should have waited until we had a few days to arrive. Hopefully they fix that system sometime.

For E G Simmons County Park: The park was great....especially if you walk down to the peninsula where the fisherman go. Great views of the city from across the water. We saw a school of dolphins while having our morning coffee. We had to leave our site early due to gnats...they were horrible. If there was a breeze it would not have been an issue. We also noticed a drive-in movie theater on the way out. Bathrooms were clean and sites were spacious. If over age 55 its only $18 a night. $24 if not...not so bad for a nice spot with water/electric.

For E G Simmons County Park: What a gorgeous, well maintained park! Large roomy sites, most with water access to the mangrove canals. Clean plentiful bath houses. Now for the bad: the bugs were horrendous! Black flies, mosquitoes, and no See-uhms. It was almost impossible to go outside without being eaten alive. It was a shame, but we had to leave early because of the bugs. I'm sure there must be a season where the bugs aren't so bad but we hit the bad season.

For E G Simmons County Park: This is a very nice park, especially if you enjoy fishing. We camped here for 3 weeks in February 2016 and fished most every day. Lots of shore fishing spots as well as canoe and kayak rentals.
Note that this park does not take reservations,. We had to wait 3 days in the "holding section" ( no power or water) until we could get a site. In 2016 the rules changed with regards to length of stay. You have to pay for either 14 or 28 days at a time, and they have different sites designated for each length of stay. It's a messed up system, but even if you don't stay all the days you pay for, it's still cheap at $18/day senior rate. The website is worthless insofar as information like the aforementioned 14/28 day rule, so I advise calling ahead and asking about such details. They appear to change their rules annually.
