For Devils Den State Park: A very scenic and quiet park situated along Lee Creek. Sites well shaded and mostly level. Clean facilities. Lots of hiking trails, mountain biking, canoeing. Nice pool area.
We camped in a 38’ class A and definitely recommend entering via highway 170. IMHO highway 74 too narrow and many sharp curves making travel riskier should you get off the road to avoid oncoming traffic. Just wouldn’t feel comfortable driving my personal rig along that route. Also recommend if you have a larger RV you go directly to your site( if known) as attempting to turn around up at the registration office may be difficult if the park is busy, as we found out. Remember, this park was built back in the 1930’s before many of our larger RVs consequently the roads are still narrow and curved limiting your maneuverability at times. However knowing all that, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

For Devils Den State Park: Stayed in camp area E with Lee Creek babbling behind us about 100 yds away. Loop E has full hookups and 2 restroom/bathhouses, one of which has WiFi. Otherwise no cell or WiFi in the Park, but drive to the top of the hill on Hwy 170 for 3 bars. Lots of room between camp sites with picnic table, charcoal grill, fire pit, and tent pad. March was too early in the season for the restaurant and the store was closed Tue & Wed so can’t comment on them. Trails were not on the difficult side, but on the Devil’s Den Trail, close watch should be paid to children as Trail is close to bluffs, deep crevices, and loose and/or wet rocks. Doesn’t have the fancy lodge and restaurant like Petit Jean, Mt. Magazine, or Queen Wilhelmina, but was an enjoyable 3 night stay. We came in on Hwy 74 from I-49 (exit 45) with a 26’ travel trailer. Sign says trailers over 26’ use Hwy 170 (exit 53). We left on Hwy 170 and it’s a little farther if heading south on I-49, but more relaxing drive. Still narrow two lane with a few hills & curves, but you won’t be able to check your own brake lights like a few places on 74 coming down the hill into the park.

Wandering Sandals
For Devils Den State Park: After 6 miles of downhill switchbacks on low gear, we checkin at Devils Den Visitor Center. The friendly superintendent allows us to stay in Loop A tent sites, which only cost $14/night in a busy Memorial Weekend. The sweet and tentative staff gal assigned couple of long paved sites for our truck and trailer. It’s a short walking distance to a clean bathroom facility with nice hot showers. Other sites in the park like Loop C are a bit hilly, hard for backing up and leveling our trailer, but all tent sites in Loop A are just perfect; leveled driveway was long enough for us and still has about 10ft of space left, shaded trees, cool wind to boot, tent sandbox, wooden picnic table and a grill. Water at spigot is yellowed and mildly rusty so we use ours stash instead. Fossil Flat mountain bike trailhead starts near our site is rocky, muddy and fun. Love this campground!

For Devils Den State Park: Awesome campsite if you like outdoors. There is a Creek, many trails, great full service level concrete sites all the way to primitive sites. Cost is cheaper than commercial parks. We use it when attending sport events at the University of Arkansas. It is about a 20 mile and 30 minute drive to the University and Fayetteville.
