For Kit Carson RV Park: We were headed for the New Mexico Balloon Festival , we hit some rain and decide we needed a place for over night, we would be entering the park just before sundown and office would be close. The roads were muddy and signs were unclear but we manage to find our spot, we were use to things like this, but when we backed into our spot it took some looking in the pouring rain to find water hookup and sewer the weeds were so high it was like braille looking for them in the slippery mud and rain. After a half. Hour hounding for power, to our luck we asked the local next to us where it was, she said your going to have to back off your pad another 40 feet into the mud and then it’s behind my trailer and through the fence. Never have I found a more ghetto RVpark and I’ve been in mor boondock, and somewhat run down RV parks in my 28 years of camping, this was the worst, wish we would of stayed in a rest stop or Walmart !

Dale Johnson
For Kit Carson RV Park: Stayed one night mid January.
Appears most spaces are permanent party. Office closes at 1400 and posts a list of open spots which was about seven.
Roads through park are muddy and sloppy.
Showers and bathrooms were filthy. Trash on floors and overflowing trash cans, mold in showers.
Over priced at $50.00 per night.
Would never stay here again.

For Kit Carson RV Park: Stayed for three nights with Class B van and small camper. Staff very courteous. We love the tall Ponderosa pines that shade all of the sites. Many long-term campers, very friendly. Coffee and donuts at the main tent every Saturday morning. Found out we needed to pay for more than two persons per night and an additional charge each night for our daughter’s tent. Bathrooms and shower functional but could use updating. Septic looks like it’s being updated, sewer smell wafting around during our third day- I hope it’s temporary!!! Would stay again provided the sewer is getting fixed.

Dan Dotson
For Kit Carson RV Park: Spent 4 nights in a short Class A towing. Pull through was adequate, a bit unlevel as all spaces and roads are dirt. Very quiet and nice people. Older park with many long termers. Suggest being self-contained as bath house was questionable. Would stay again.
