For E G Simmons County Park: Pretty nice public campground. Nice friendly staff. No issues with other campers. Can get a little busy with kids and such but overall quiet. Spots are spaced out well enough but are very open so not much in the way of natural privacy. Saw rays in the water and many beautiful birds. If you get lucky you can spot manatees and dolphins as well. Along with the other county parks, this is the cheapest campground you'll find in the area. Had an electrical issue that was fixed quickly. Bathrooms in pretty good shape. Very bold raccoons around. One camper said they raccoons took her $150 headphones lol. Anytime we cooked over fire 4-6 would gather and watch from the treeline. Often on top of or stuck in the dumpsters, but they scare off easy enough. More campsites than the other county parks so it's easier to get a spot with little hassle. About 45min to an hour from Tampa or Sarasota. Small beach swimming area but it's more for the kids. The Nociums are bad and hard to repel, but i didn't find it worse than an area with a lot of mosquitos, which are not present in this park at all. I would stay again if in the area. It's a good fallback if Lithia Springs is full.

For E G Simmons County Park: It’s hard to find anything wrong with this campground. Friendly staff and rangers, large level sites with water and electric, two dump stations, great fishing or kayaking, huge swimming beach, clean restrooms, fees are very reasonable, etc. There is one nasty thing, the No-see-ums!!! Smallest I’ve ever seen with a giant bite and bug sprays don’t seem to stop them. It’s a shame because otherwise it is a perfect park. Looking for a no-see-um tent and effective bug spray, because we don’t want to leave.

For E G Simmons County Park: The sites are huge, but not particularly level. Staff needs training. We had a fellow camper threaten us. Spoke with staff later and were informed oh, that’s x, he’s got brain damage, and hes not fully with it. Thanks. Then I had a neighbor pull his 20 foot trailer in and, unable to back it into his 60 by 90 site he decided to set it up mostly on my site. I went to the front desk, who sent out the ‘head ranger”. ‘Head ranger”, lacking the cajones to tell my neighbor to park on his own incredibly spacious site, said it was fine!. i then end up with neighbor’s screaming children and loose dog taking over my entire site for the evening, with neighbor blaring music loud enough to be heard halfway across the campground. . Of, course, the rangers leave at five and have left this debacle to me. Contesting the change with the credit card company.

For E G Simmons County Park: Beautiful. Large flat sites. Some with 50 amp. All seem to be $18 @ 55yr, $24 full. Only issue we have is we came for one night to check it out, and are not allowed again until 14 days pass because the computer will not let us return. We should have waited until we had a few days to arrive. Hopefully they fix that system sometime.
